We've been ripped off by Keith Herlock On April 1st 2008 one Keith Herlock of Billericay in the UK ordered a CD from our website and paid using PayPal. The CD in question was Roy's "Dancing with Shadows". We posted the CD to Mr Herlock's Billericay address on 3rd April.
After Mr Herlock received his CD he reversed the charge made to his credit card on the grounds that there had been an "unauthorised use" of the card. Mr Herlock's bank apparently agreed so not only have we donated a CD to Mr Herlock free of charge, but we've been hit with a "chargeback" fee by PayPal. In total we're out of pocket by 32.25 EUR.
We've emailed Mr Herlock twice and he has not even had the manners to respond. I guess that's because he's feeling just a little guilty.
Our research shows that Mr Herlock is in financial trouble and his Travel Agency business has just been forced to close. The online story on the "This is total Essex" website has since disappeared, so here's a handy little copy that we kept.
We understand that Mr Herlock's business has collapsed and money may be tight. But we don't know how he can sleep soundly at night knowing that he's ripped off a small kiwi company AND one of Britain's best loved musicians. What an arsehole.
We're sorry to announce that we've just suffered our first internet fraud. It's not a big one but there's a principle involved and we're not happy.
